Ottawa's cultural landscape has evolved significantly over the last 25 years. Back in the early 90s, David and I had to make the two-hour drive to Montreal whenever we craved our comfort foods from El Salvador—that's where the closest pupuserias were located!
We opened La Cabaña in Ottawa in May 1996. While we felt some pride in establishing Ottawa's first Salvadoran eatery, we are even happier that we can provide a taste of El Salvador to our fellow Ottawans.
Amig@s, come visit us La Cabaña's new digs in Hintonburg! Six weeks without pupusas has been unbearable, wouldn't you agree? To heck with perfection, come enjoy your Salvy faves at 83 Holland while we continue to work on finalizing our menu and new hours.
Remember that La Tiendita has found a new home in Chinatown at 615 Somerset.
